Alianzas Educativas y Apoyo de Subvenciones

Educational Partnerships & Grant Support

La programación educativa de En Español se fortalece a través de alianzas con museos, universidades, instituciones cívicas y organizaciones comunitarias que comparten nuestro compromiso de ampliar el acceso a oportunidades de aprendizaje significativas.

A través de nuestra colaboración con el DuPage Children’s Museum, nuestro equipo ha participado en capacitaciones profesionales de STEAM y oportunidades de desarrollo educativo diseñadas para fortalecer el aprendizaje práctico para estudiantes y familias. Varias de estas sesiones de capacitación fueron dirigidas por educadores y expertos de la Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering de la Universidad de Chicago, brindando exposición a enfoques innovadores en la educación STEM, la investigación científica y el aprendizaje interdisciplinario.

También hemos colaborado con el National Center for Supercomputing Applications, NCSA, de la Universidad de Illinois Urbana-Champaign para ofrecer a los estudiantes experiencias inmersivas de aprendizaje STEM. A través de actividades prácticas, exploración de investigación e interacciones con educadores e investigadores universitarios, los estudiantes tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer conceptos científicos avanzados mientras exploraban caminos hacia la educación superior y carreras en STEM.

En Español también recibió apoyo a través de la Comisión SECA de la Ciudad de Naperville para la iniciativa del Jardín de Mariposas Monarca de Naperville Sister Cities, un proyecto que conecta la protección del medio ambiente, la educación bilingüe, la colaboración intercultural, el liderazgo juvenil y el aprendizaje basado en la comunidad.

Además, nuestra organización recibió apoyo financiero a través de la Teen Philanthropy Initiative, TPI, un programa competitivo de liderazgo cívico y filantropía que capacita a los estudiantes para participar en la concesión de subvenciones, la recaudación de fondos, el servicio comunitario y el impacto comunitario a largo plazo.

En conjunto, estas alianzas reflejan la creciente confianza en la misión de En Español y en nuestra capacidad para construir oportunidades educativas a través de la colaboración. En Español’s educational programming is strengthened through partnerships with museums, universities, civic institutions, and community organizations that share our commitment to expanding access to meaningful learning opportunities.

Through our partnership with the DuPage Children’s Museum, our team has participated in professional STEAM training and educational development opportunities designed to strengthen hands-on learning for students and families. Several of these training sessions were led by educators and experts from the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago, providing exposure to innovative approaches in STEM education, scientific inquiry, and interdisciplinary learning.

We have also collaborated with the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to provide students with immersive STEM learning experiences. Through hands-on activities, research exploration, and interactions with university educators and researchers, students gained exposure to advanced scientific concepts while exploring pathways in higher education and STEM careers.

En Español also received support through the City of Naperville SECA Commission for the Naperville Sister Cities Monarch Butterfly Garden Initiative, a project connecting environmental stewardship, bilingual education, intercultural collaboration, youth leadership, and community-based learning.

In addition, our organization received grant support through the Teen Philanthropy Initiative (TPI), a competitive civic leadership and philanthropy program that empowers students to engage in grantmaking, fundraising, service, and long-term community impact.

Together, these partnerships reflect growing trust in En Español’s mission and our ability to build educational opportunities through collaboration. By connecting students with museums, universities, civic leaders, and community partners, we continue to expand access to learning experiences that inspire young people to explore, lead, and contribute to their communities.

Premio Princeton en Relaciones Raciales

  • El fundador Tai Nghiem fue nombrado receptor regional 2026 del Premio Princeton en Relaciones Raciales.
  • El Premio Princeton en Relaciones Raciales ha reconocido desde 2003 a estudiantes líderes que promueven la equidad racial y el entendimiento intercultural.

Subvención Hershey Heartwarming Young Heroes GYSD

  • El fundador Tai Nghiem recibió la Subvención Hershey Heartwarming Young Heroes, en colaboración con Youth Service America (YSA), por sus iniciativas de liderazgo juvenil e impacto comunitario.
  • La Subvención Hershey Heartwarming Young Heroes apoya a jóvenes agentes de cambio en Estados Unidos y Canadá que lideran proyectos enfocados en:
    • servicio
    • filantropía
    • defensa de causas
    • liderazgo juvenil
    • participación comunitaria
  • En 2026, las subvenciones se otorgaron en tres niveles:

Princeton Prize in Race Relations

  • Founder Tai Nghiem was named a 2026 regional recipient of the Princeton Prize in Race Relations.
  • The Princeton Prize in Race Relations has recognized student leaders advancing racial equity and intercultural understanding since 2003.
  • In 2026, only 29 high school students nationwide were selected as regional recipients from hundreds of applicants across the country.
  • The award recognizes high school students who demonstrate leadership in: advancing racial equity; promoting intercultural understanding; and creating positive impact within schools and communities.
  • Regional recipients receive a cash prize, recognition from Princeton University, and an invitation to the annual Princeton Prize Symposium on Race held at Princeton University.

National Geographic Slingshot Challenge

  • Founders Tai Nghiem and Tien Nghiem received an Honorable Mention in the 2026 National Geographic Slingshot Challenge for the project Building a Butterfly Bridge.
  • The project placed Top 50 worldwide out of 2,300+ submissions across 104 countries.
  • The project was recognized for combining environmental education, bilingual literacy, student illustration, intercultural collaboration, and community engagement.

Hershey Heartwarming Young Heroes GYSD Grant

  • Founder Tai Nghiem received the Hershey Heartwarming Young Heroes Grant in partnership with Youth Service America (YSA) for youth leadership and community impact initiatives.
  • The Hershey Heartwarming Young Heroes Grant supports youth changemakers across the United States and Canada who lead projects focused on service, philanthropy, advocacy, youth leadership, and community engagement.
  • In 2026, grants were awarded at three levels: $250 grants for projects involving at least 25 participants; $500 grants for projects involving at least 50 participants; and $1,000 grants for projects involving at least 100 participants.
